Feeding Oklahoma with LET'S DO THIS OKLAHOMA!
Let's Do This Oklahoma is an initiative that the Office of Mission with the Oklahoma Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church is launching with this food drive! For this friendly competition amongst the districts, we are asking churches from each district to step up and help fundraise for the children of Oklahoma in November. Each congregation that participates will collect non-perishable food items throughout the month of November and will distribute the food at their own opportunity. While the focus is feeding children in Oklahoma, we ask that each congregation takes into consideration the communities most in need of these donations. Throughout the month, we will collect photos of the food donations and then present the winners via our Facebook page! There will be winners, but it is most important to remember that we are collecting this food for a reason! To feed Oklahomans in a time of economic and social struggles that may prohibit them from staying fed and healthy!

Details
- Once a church or congregation decides to participate in our friendly competition, they will be provided with an online registration form, to which they will fill out their information and any details needed. - Once a church has been approved and registered for this competition, they can begin collecting their food items! We are suggesting the donation of canned goods, pre-packaged, non-perishable food items. - As the competition goes on through the month of November, each church will be asked to send weekly updates with photos and/or numbers of their donated items and our office will be recognizing and posting those on our social media! - Once the month of November ends, we will combine the grand total of all donations and celebrate our success on social media! We will also have awards for multiple categories including Large and Small Congregations who gave the most, the district who gave the most and more! - After we publish the photos on our Facebook, each church is responsible for either distributing the food themselves OR donating it to a larger organization in their area, like the Food Bank!
